Meditation is a tool that originated in Asia as early as 5000 BCE, and has since spread throughout the world as a means of quieting one’s mind using breath as the link to the present moment.

During meditation, one does not stop thinking, but merely becomes an observer. Over time, one begins to notice patterns in their thinking, and thus meditation can be a powerful tool for self-awareness.
